AT Tredrez-Locquemeauabout thirty people gathered recently to protest following several incidents noted by walkers on the paths to surroundings of the Coat Trédrez manor.
If the name of the “Dogs and Castle” collective begins as a tale, it is, alas, the reflection of a sad reality.
bitten people
Since January 17, several people, including children, have been threatened or attacked by two dogs, “one of which is very aggressive and dissuasive”. Some were bitten, others blocked or chased.
Jean-Marc Fontaine, the collective’s spokesperson, reports no less thanten cases. Others, who came to join the protest hike, cite other cases not declared by the victims.
Meetings were organized with the dog’s owner, which yielded nothing, since the verbal commitments were not respected the following week.
A 3-week ITT
It formalizes a first request: the commitment of the owner of the female dog “that it be kept behind an impassable fence and that she only goes out on a leash”.
This would be in accordance with the recommendations of the behavioral veterinarian appointed by the mayor of Trédrez-Locquémeau, following a complaint following an attack and injury resulting in a 3-week ITT, on January 18: “The wound, healed, of 4.5 cm , is still apparent to this day.
Diagnosis of the professional: “The female dog is classified dangerous dog level 2“. It requires a solemn, written and verifiable undertaking on these points.
The collective asks for a bitch rehabilitation“sufficiently pushed to ensure that she actually obeys the injections of her companions, which was not the case during the last meetings”.
Right of way
In addition, the collective requests the affixing at the entrance of the park, not closed but under the threat of the dog, of a panel recalling that the way joining the communal path to the Calvary is the subject of a right of wayaccording to the minutes of the municipal council of June 15, 1974, countersigned by the sub-prefect on July 12.
And he also calls for the signaling on the said panel of the communal status of the passage from Calvary to the road to Ploulec’h, passing through the waste disposal centre.
Access to wood claimed
Finally, the collective wishes the restoration of access to Coat Trédrez wood for walkers, curious or mushroom pickers “as was tradition, in memory of former present”.
“Today, the usual walkers are abandoning the Kerdepot and Kerbabu sector, and even more so around the castle of Trédrez, for fear of being the subjects of aggression”, underlines one of the hikers.
“Beyond regulations denied by the owner, there are a real problem of citizenship and civility… That everyone can taste the pleasures of nature in complete serenity must remain an indisputable wealth accessible to all”, underlines another.
