This Wednesday, May 10, high school students from the Saint-Front establishment in Bergerac (Dordogne) were worried by the howling of dogs nearby. By going to check what was happening, they did not expect to come across this shocking scene. Under their eyes, a man suspends his dalmatian by its leash from the balcony of a house.
Outraged, the young people immediately contact the municipal police, who quickly arrive on the scene. When the municipal officers show up, the man is loading the dog’s body into his trunk. The national police were therefore called in as reinforcements to place the man in custody, according to information from South West.

Also warned, the Bergerac SPA went to the scene, and the poor dog was not unknown to them. The animal having made several passages in the pound in recent weeks. The approximately 3-year-old Dalmatian, baptized Mirò, had been saved a few months ago by the companion of the man taken into custody.
Still attached to a neighbor of the couple, this dog had moved the mother who loves animals and therefore could not leave him to his sad fate. Collected in this family, Mirò got along very well with the children of the couple and did not seem to pose any particular problem, according to the testimony of the president of the SPA of Bergerac on the waves of France Blue Perigord.
The man had had enough of the dog’s nonsense
Only, in recent weeks, the animal has been taken to the pound several times after running away for which his mistress had no explanation. Even worse, the dog had been found tied in a wood a few days before the tragedy. The president of the SPA had indicated to his mistress that someone probably wanted her Dalmatian, but she was far from imagining that her spouse was behind all this.
In police custody, the forty-something would have justified his gesture by explaining thathe had had enough of the animal’s nonsense. Shocked, the police services and the SPA team said they had never encountered such a case in their careers.
The dog will soon be autopsied at the request of the justice, in order to estimate if he suffered other abuses before this fatal act of cruelty. This Friday, May 12, the man was brought before the public prosecutor of Bergerac who requested his placement under judicial supervision, and he must also be assessed by a psychiatrist, pending his trial in early July.
