Owners who let their dogs roam freely in public spaces are called upon to keep their pets on a leash.
Arnaud Dumontier, mayor of Pont-Sainte-Maxence wished to recall the existence of a decree on the subject after having received several complaints from residents.
“To guarantee safety and public tranquility, but also to prevent possible accidents, a municipal decree, still in force, stipulates that it is forbidden to let dogs roam throughout the territory of the city. Owners and keepers of dogs are therefore obliged to keep their animals on a leash in public places. Aggressive, nasty animals, whose behavior can be dangerous or dogs of the Pitbull, Rottweiler, Bull Terrier type, must wear a muzzle. Any dog found wandering on the public highway will be impounded, at the expense, risk and peril of its holder or owner.
Elected officials alerted during office hours
The first magistrate noted that some citizens would not yet comply with this rule. Arnaud Dumontier has been alerted several times during his weekly meetings and during recent neighborhood committees.
The mayor therefore reacted by asking the municipal police to apply, without delay, the principle of “zero tolerance”.
In addition, another municipal decree prohibits any circulation of dogs on various green and pedestrian spaces of the municipality, namely the esplanade du General de Gaulle, the green space located at the corner of the streets Claude Chappe and Edouard Branly, the Raymond Louchart sports complex, the enclosure of the Georges Decroze stadium, the pedestrian area of the playground located rue du Stade and the Champ-de-Mars.
Law enforcement will crack down
And for the recalcitrant, the mayor does not hesitate to affirm that he “wishes to apply the principle of zero tolerance towards people who do not respect it”. Clearly, failure to comply with these prohibitions will result in a fine of 35 euros. This is still less than the risk of a fine of 335 euros in the event of uncollected dog droppings.
A deer released

The same week, Saturday May 13, it is for a news requiring less “repression” that the first magistrate moved to Sarron.
A deer was rescued from being stuck on private property. The Sdis60 firefighters intervened to save a deer trapped in a garden on rue Fould Stern in the territory of Sarron. The firefighters took care of the animal before releasing it safe and sound in the forest. All ends well for the animal.

A small dog rescued from the sewers

It was a passerby who gave the alert after hearing the barking of a small dog coming from the sewers. Her name is Bella. For some reason yet to be determined, she spent three hours in sewer water. But the main thing is that Bella is okay. She owes it to her rescuers, the firefighters of Pont-Sainte-Maxence. She was taken care of by the municipal police, the time to find her owners.
